Ohhhh Roddy!

Just sharing some cards I made for my family. The first card is for my mum and dads wedding anniversary. I don't like cutting into my 12 x12 cardstock so mostly use 6x6 cardstock for these projects. I particularly liked this Ephemera image of Valentino sweeping some poor woman off her feet into a posed swoon (not quite the image of ma and pa, but suitable for this occasion). Then added some german scrap lace, their initials and some bindi bling.
The next card for my mum's birthday shows an image of mother and child. Added ribbon, flowers and buttons to finish. Both images I printed from the Tuscan Rose 'Can't get enough ephemera' collage CD. Some of the images on this CD are hysterical and I often make cards using it and then adding a suitable quote. On the lookout for a similar CD with more of a 50's era now.

Finally!

Finally I have finished the layout that's been sitting on my dining room table for the last two weeks. But it was worth taking a step back and looking at it again with fresh eyes. I normally include journaling but couldn't find the right words to explain how much my hubby means to me without being to sickly sweet. But once I had added the title I realised that those few words spoke volumes. I used some My Minds Eye papers that I really liked but hadn't found a project to use them on. I then added some Ranger Stickles and some sparkly bling and it was finished. Don't the pretty Anna Griffin embellishment look gorgeous? I'm really pleased with it as it's taken over 20 years together to get a decent photo of him. Normally he blinks or something, only another 20 years to wait for the next one then!

Yay! Layout Published

Rushed out after work at lunchtime to pick up my copy of Scrapbook Inspirations to see if they published my 'Little Blue Shed Layout'. Was so pleased to see that they had, so I can now show the whole page in all it's glory. I sent it in under the 'Love Is..' theme (yes I know to be in love with your shed is slightly quirky and weird, but hay ho, that's me!). At the risk of sounding like I have such a massive stock of cardstock and papers (only the one Artbin box) again the papers I had in my stash. Though admittedly they hadn't been there for long, again Basic Grey came up with the goods for this page. Just love the apple cutout design by Ki Memories, it really brightens up the page. Talking earlier about cardstock in your stash, I'm trying to use up some papers that I love but are not really the colours I get to use much so working on a layout about my other half using a sort of dusky pink. Looks good so far but I need to finish off the journaling and it's been sitting on the dining table all week, just as well my two don't mind having their dinner on trays....best get on then.

The Story of the Hog....

Tried a Pencilines design for this layout about a Little hedgehog that was wandering around the garden during the warm Autumn last year. Pencilines really helps when the inspiration is lacking or you just want to try a different style. I'm pretty pleased with the finished page and like the colour combination of minty green and brown together. I just used some Basic Grey, Bo Bunny and My Minds Eye papers that I already had in my stash. I had a lot to say in my journaling spot so made a fold out book concealed under the circle of the title. The story is about how I used to look after injured hedgehogs and that he was the second one this year in the garden during the day (which means somethings wrong). In this case he was just hungry as it was late in the year so after tucking into some cat food he was happy to wander off and have a sleep in an old hutch in the garden. Didn't see him again, that's gratitude for you! The photo of the layout is rubbish because of the poor light at this time of year. Hope you enjoy it anyhow.
